Oxygen.next is a free web service provided by 42media services GmbH that allows to build up digital signage networks of any size, e.g. for instore-TV (television in stores, restaurants, fitness centers etc.). It includes a web-based Content Management System, the Oxygen.next Management Suite, and a player setup software that has to be installed on a local Windows PC. Oxygen.next was first released on 14th August 2009 and is based on the Oxygen Media Platform, an enterprise digital signage solution developed by 42media group GmbH that is being applied by Deutsche Postbank at 856 locations all over Germany.

[edit] Installation
To apply Oxygen.next the user has to sign-up on the product website. He will then receive an e-mail containing his login data and software download link. The Oxygen.next software has to be installed on a Windows PC. When the installation process is finished the user can start creating his own program.
[edit] Content Management
To administer his program the user logs on to the Oxygen.next Management Suite with his personal login data. On the Oxygen.next Management Suite he will see a list of all available players that he can assign content to. Content can be uploaded via a simple upload form or via WebDAV.
The user can combine different players in specific player groups to manage these players together.
The Oxygen.next Management Suite program scheduler can handle both playing priority-based and static playlists. Furthermore single or periodic timer events can be set for specific content items.
By means of the integrated text editor pre-designed Flash templates can be filled in with texts, images and MP3 files.

- Microsoft XAML und XBAP with .NET 3.5 SP1 (online and offline)
- HTML/CSS/Javascript (online and offline)
- JAVA JRE Applets (online and offline)
- JPG
- BMP
You can also add your favorite codecs like DivX or Xvid by installing them.

For the use of Oxygen.next the following minimum hardware requirements are recommended:
- CPU: Intel P4 2,4Ghz or comparable AMD
- RAM: min 512MB (caution with shared memory graphics boards!)
- HDD: min 40GB
- Graphics: ATI Radeon HD2400Pro or comparable
- Sound: Onboard
- Driver: Microsoft Windows XP WHQL certified
The following operating systems are supported(all 32bit):
- Windows XP Professional with SP3 and higher
- Windows Vista Home Premium with SP1 and higher
- Windows 7
